Current Position: Distinguished Professor/Attending Physician, Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University and National Taiwan University Children’s Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Mei-Hwan Wu obtained her MD and PhD at the National Taiwan University in Taiwan and complete her EMBA from National Taiwan University. Dr. Mei-Hwan Wu is an expert in the cardiac electrophysiology, from cellular to cardiac catheterization theater. She is a pioneer in pediatric transcatheter arrhythmia therapy. Besides, her research foci cover widely the spectrum of arrhythmia, congenital heart disease and acquired heart disease (Kawasaki disease) in children. Dr. Mei-Hwan Wu is also dedicated to promote the health care for children. She had been the President of Asia-Pacific Pediatric Cardiology Society from 2012 to 2014, the President of Taiwan Society of Pediatric Society from 2005 to 2012, the President of Taiwan Pediatric Association from 2011 to 2014, and the Superintendent of National Taiwan University Children’s Hospital from 2014 to 2020. Because of her contribution to child health care and health care education, Dr. Wu had been awarded as Outstanding Asian Pediatrician Award, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Professional Award, the Excellent Teacher Award (Taiwan Education Administration), National Taiwan University outstanding teacher award, Taiwan Pediatric Award Medical Education Contribution Award, Taiwan Pediatric Association Award, Outstanding Professor Award (Far Eastern Y.Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation) and North American Alumni Association, Nong-Ting Award and Chin-Hsin Award.
